TEAP is focusing on, intensifying effective and appropriate services to women, youth and children.
i.Empowering vulnerable women with tools and skills to enable them to increase in their economic productivity. Will lead them to become independent decision makers in their lives. The support will include motivational speaking, counseling and guidance, training in vocational skills, provision of income generation grants in form of revolving loans. Sensitization for building awareness in human rights, domestic issues, parenting, property rights, children’s rights and health and wellness.
ii. We are supporting Orphans and Vulnerable children (OVCs) on short-term and long-term basis in all aspects of life. Children are provided with education through paying school fees, clothing, meals at schools, medical care where needed, beddings and shelter. We aim at leading children to become change makers and responsible men and women of integrity and reliable citizens. Currently 150 children are enrolled to be supported in Mukono, Kamuli, Namayingo and Nansana. Conducting child counseling sessions during weekends and holiday periods and monitoring children who have special needs to ensure that they get appropriate education and all other children’s rights.
i. Since its inception, TEAP has reached the capacity to support 107 women, some of these have been given revolving Income Generation (IGA) grants which are raised through the women’s weekly savings of $0.75 each. Each woman saves this money, which is then given out as revolving IGA loans to members of the group who can invest it and repay back in a period of 3-6 months.
ii. Since 2014 TEAP has registered 228 children below 16 years. Of these 151 are being supported with donations received from friends, relatives and the local community. At least 32 have sponsors but more are needed.
iii. The organization is providing counseling, small grants income generation activities, housing and general domestic support. This provided them with little income that helped them not to go to the streets anymore.
iv. The organization has supported its activities through small contributions of cash and kind from well-wishers and friends of TEAP both within and outside Uganda and much of the activities are carried out by volunteers who offer unpaid time and skills.
v. There is viable transformation in social, economic and spiritual and behaviour change among the beneficiaries.
vi. At the coordination office in Mukono, women and children come in for counseling, social gatherings and health screening and receiving items donated by well wishers.
vii. Some are women who are former street prostitutes, PWDs, PLWHs, and others are needy in one way or another.
viii. The organization provides shelter, food and medical care to young teenage mothers and their children. Some of these are rehabilitating from prostitution and forced sexual work, which they were forced into due to poverty.
